We are the Granlunds, Luke and Ruth. Our family has been serving in Harare, Zimbabwe, since November 2025. Our primary ministry focus is evangelism and church strengthening through discipleship and biblical counseling.

Prior to heading to the mission field, Luke worked for 13 years in marketing in the film industry, and four years in the financial sector. Ruth worked as an auditor before becoming a full-time mom after getting married in 2018. We independently came to Grace Community Church (Luke in 2006 and Ruth in 2004). We believe our years at Grace Community Church, and being trained in various ministries, have equipped us to use our spiritual giftedness to strengthen the church in Zimbabwe.

Ministry Focus:

1. Evangelism – Our local church is near the University of Zimbabwe, the most prestigious university in the country, providing ample opportunity to engage young adults with the transforming power of the gospel.
2. Discipleship – Our disciple making efforts include Fundamentals of the Faith (FOF), biblical counseling, men’s and women’s ministry, and young adult ministry.
3. Church Strengthening – There are a half dozen churches our local church partners with to help strengthen through pulpit assistance, prayer, and encouragement. We desire to see not only our local church strengthened, but like-minded churches in the city and the country as well.

Current Ministry Objectives:

• Finish getting established as full time residents in the country
• Assimilate into body life through completion of membership classes, showing hospitality, and getting plugged into established ministries including men’s ministry (Luke), women’s ministry (Ruth), young adult ministry (Luke & Ruth), and evangelism
• Prepare to co-lead a Biblical Counseling cohort starting in January of 2026 training 20+ members from several local churches 
• To develop intentional relations, build trust, and find meaningful ways to show genuine love and service to our new local body

• Pray that Luke would receive permanent residence status (Ruth is a citizen)
• Pray that we would develop meaningful relationships in the local church
• Pray for continued unity with our ministry partners
• Pray that we would trust the Lord’s timing for all His provision
• Pray that we would remain humble and dependent servants of Christ
• Pray for the salvation of our daughter
