On August 5, 2018, FaithBuilders and Doulos joined together to open up new opportunities for all ages to study, grow, and be shepherded under godly leadership centered around the Word. This group will be called Anchored, in reference to Hebrews 6:19—“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul…”—and we trust it will be another expression of God’s faithfulness to mature our church family. Bill has served on staff since 1989, and he is the co-pastor of Anchored, a Sunday morning adult fellowship group. Bill oversees and is actively involved in the biblical counseling ministry—he teaches discipleship counseling and marriage and family classes through Grace Equip and provides formal and informal counseling for church members and regular attenders of Grace Church. He is also a member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) where he serves as a fellow. Bill has enjoyed opportunities to minister internationally, teaching at pastors' conferences and training centers in India, Croatia, England, Poland, the Czech-Republic, Japan, Ireland, and South Africa. Bill graduated from Iona College (B.A.) in New Rochelle, New York, and earned his M.Div. and D.Min. from The Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, California. Bill and his wife, Donna, have two daughters and five granddaughters.
George Sanders practices plastic surgery in Los Angeles. He was born and raised in Southeast Texas. George attended Harvard Medical School then completed his general surgery training and plastic surgery residency at UCLA. George is privileged to have served as an elder at Grace Community Church since 2000. He teaches biblical counseling, a premarital class and also gives oversight to international missions. George and his wife, Anna, are certified in biblical counseling and often counsel together. In their spare time they love to serve in ministry together as well as travel, entertain, and just “hang out.” Both of their adult children are married, live close and are a major part of their lives. George has served on the TMU board since 2007.
Tom has been a lay elder since March, 2010. He serves in Anchored with Bill Shannon, Carl Hargrove, George Crawford, and George Sanders, and in Special Ministries with Rick McLean. Tom is also involved with Grace Advance and serves as a member of the Elders Counsel Handling Advance (ECHA). He and his wife, Stacy, have been married for thirty-three years. They were saved more than twenty-eight years ago, and have been at Grace Community Church since that time. God used Pastor MacArthur’s unwavering proclamation of God’s truth on the radio to bring the Lemans to salvation.
