180 Ministry

As the high school ministry of Grace Church, 180 teaches students that life is about Christ (Colossians 1:28–29). Our desire is to see students come to true saving faith in Jesus Christ and grow in love, obedience, delight, evangelistic zeal, and service for His glory. We seek to accomplish this through the regular preaching of God’s Word and small group discipleship, which takes place weekly through our Sunday morning service and Wednesday evening Bible studies.

Through intentional investment, we strive to walk with young people as they mature into adulthood and see this season in a teenager’s life as vital toward forming spiritual convictions through understanding, applying, and cherishing God’s Word.

To get connected to a weekly Bible study, visit the Bible study page or contact the Student Ministries office.

Teachers

Chris Hamilton

Chris grew up at Grace Community Church and, for most of his life, he has been part of youth ministry—either as a student, or serving as volunteer staff in Junior High, High School, and College ministries. He graduated from California State University, Northridge in 1985, and is a practicing CPA in the area of forensic accounting. Chris and his wife, Ann, met in 1986 while both were involved in ministry in Crossroads, and they were married in 1988. Chris and Ann have three grown daughters and three grandchildren.

Matt Poladian

Matt was saved during high school. Since then, he’s had a passion for bringing the gospel to students in the context of youth ministry. Matt and his wife, Jenny, began attending Grace Community Church in 2003 and have served as volunteer staff in the youth department for most of that time. Matt currently serves as an elder in the High School ministry, and he also works full-time leading Human Resources at Liferay, a global software company. Matt and Jenny have three children.

Josh Petras

Josh served as high school pastor at Grace Community Church from 2014 until 2022 and earned his degree from The Master’s Seminary (M.Div., D.Min). Having been saved in student ministries, Josh has a passion to see young people place their trust in Jesus and become functioning members of the local church. Josh has been married to Katie since 2010, and they have three children—Jude, Chloe, and Sophia.
