Summer Sessions 2022

Sermons in this series

6 Messages

While many of our women’s studies and fellowships take a break during the summer months, we want to provide an opportunity for continued spiritual growth during this slower season so we’re making available a six-week study of the book of Joshua. The book of Joshua relates the story of the nation of Israel entering the Promised Land under the leadership of Moses’ successor, Joshua. This narrative not only tells the story of Yahweh’s people conquering the land but it also shows the fulfilment of Yahweh’s promise and covenant originally given to Abraham and his descendants. It’s a beautiful revelation of God’s sovereignty and His faithful and holy character.

About

Ministry

Summer Sessions

During the summer months when many regular women’s ministries are not meeting, we organize an independent study designed for personal use through questions at the end of each section to help facilitate deeper study, discussion, and application. This study usually begins in June and ends in August, with a new video introduction each week to accompany the lesson.

May the Lord bless your time in His Word!

Lauren Brown

Lauren and her husband, Larry, have been married 38 blissful years, and she looks forward to growing old with him. There’s not been a dull moment yet! Lauren delights in being Larry’s wife and loves spending time with family and friends, especially when food is involved. Any free time is spent outside, doing anything and everything. Lauren’s professional life has been in as a television reporter before she left several years ago to care for her family. Lauren and her husband have been members at Grace Community Church since 1982. She works with women’s ministries, participates on short-terms missions teams, volunteers at the Shepherds’ Conference, and works with high school students and staff. Daily discipline and discipleship are central to Lauren’s spiritual life, and one of her favorite passages in Scripture in Psalm 121, which became very personal to her as a new believer many years ago, and continues to strengthen and encourage her. “I will lift up my eyes to the mountains, where my help comes from. My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The Lord will protect you from all evil, He will guard your soul. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in, from this time forth and forever.”
