Teachers

Irv Busenitz

Irv grew up in central Kansas and, after completing undergraduate studies in Omaha, Nebraska, came to California with his wife Karen to attend Talbot Seminary. During residency for his Master of Divinity studies, he served as a youth pastor and associate pastor in Downey, California. Following his seminary training, Irv joined the Bible and Old Testament faculty at Talbot, and from 1977-1986 served as the Director of their Valley Campus based on the campus of Grace Church. He became a founding member of The Master’s Seminary in 1986, where he continues as the Vice President for Academic Administration and Professor of Bible and Old Testament. Irv serves as an Elder and as chair of ECHO, while his wife Karen is active with Seminary Wives’ Discipleship Program. They have been married for over 40 years and are the parents of two married sons and six grandchildren.

Austin Duncan

Austin has served in student ministry for over a decade. After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico, he moved to Los Angeles to attend The Master's Seminary in 2005. After serving as the junior high and high school pastor, he now serves as college pastor. He and his wife, Merilly, have three daughters and a son.

Chris Hamilton

Chris grew up at Grace Community Church and, for most of his life, he has been part of youth ministry—either as a student, or serving as volunteer staff in Junior High, High School, and College ministries. He graduated from California State University, Northridge in 1985, and is a practicing CPA in the area of forensic accounting. Chris and his wife, Ann, met in 1986 while both were involved in ministry in Crossroads, and they were married in 1988. Chris and Ann have three grown daughters and three grandchildren.

Dave Muxlow

Dave grew up in a Christian family and came to Christ at a young age. He and his wife, Susie, were married in June 1967, and Dave was deployed overseas with the navy one month later. He returned to California after two years, earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics at California State University Northridge, and started working as a general building contractor soon after. Dave served as an elder in a local church for twenty-five years before the Lord led him to Grace Church in 2000, where he has served as an elder since 2006. In 2011, Dave joined Grace Church staff as director of Facilities. He and his wife, Susie, have three married children, thirteen grandchildren—three of whom are recently married—and one great grandchild on the way.
